Is the object itself (the call box) the portal or is the object about the object (a display at a museum about the call boxes) the portal? Of course, the article mentioned there are nearly 1500 of these things. Clearly they can't all be portals.
The display at the SFFD museum regarding the fire box network would be a more appropriate portal to note the significance of this technology.

Ryan Schoon the two submitted objects are call boxes. My refferal to a display at the SFFD museum was an example of what a suitable portal would be.
